How to Add Refrigerant to the Air Conditioner?
The addition of refrigerants is the most common problem in air conditioning maintenance, and it is also a technical task. To ensure that the added refrigerant has a good refrigeration effect when adding, we must not only choose the refrigerant with guaranteed quality but also choose the appropriate adding method. The followings are four methods of adding refrigerant to the air conditioner.
Quantitative method
Connect the three-way valve, pressure gauge, hose, refrigerant cylinder, etc. to the process port of the three-way stop valve. After evacuating the refrigerant, slowly add refrigerant to the air conditioner. Weigh with a more accurate measuring tool such as a platform scale. When the reduction of the refrigerant in the cylinder is equal to the standard amount of refrigerant added on the nameplate of the air conditioner, close the valve of the refrigerant cylinder.
Current measurement method
Set the air conditioner in the cooling or heating high-speed air condition (the inverter air conditioner is set in the trial operation condition). At the process port of the low-pressure shut-off valve, observe the change of the clamp-on ammeter while adding refrigerant. When the current value, close the refrigerant cylinder valve.
At this time, let the air conditioner continue to operate for a period of time. When the room temperature in the cooling state is close to 27°C or the room temperature in the heating state is close to 20°C, consider the factors affecting the rated operating current such as the air temperature of the outdoor unit and the voltage of the power grid. At the same time, fine-tune the amount of refrigerant added to make it reach the rated operating current.
Pressure measurement method
Place the air conditioner in a high-speed cooling state (in winter, when heating needs to add refrigerant, set the air conditioner in a forced cooling state or place the room temperature sensor in warm water at about 27°C), add cooling to the process port of the low-pressure shut-off valve and observe the vacuum pressure the low pressure of the meter.
When the low pressure is 0.49MPa (summer) or 0.25MPa (winter), close the refrigerant cylinder valve. Then consider the factors that affect the low pressure, such as the air temperature of the outdoor unit, the size of the indoor cooling load, etc., and fine-tune the amount of refrigerant and the gauge pressure to accurately add the refrigerant.
The reason for fine-tuning is because the low pressure is directly proportional to the indoor cooling load, that is, the greater the cooling load, the higher the pressure, and vice versa. The process port for adding refrigerant and nearby pipelines are installed outdoors, and their pressure and evaporation temperature are greatly affected by the outside air temperature. Therefore, fine-tuning is required to accurately add refrigerant.
Observation method
The air conditioner is set to operate in the state of cooling or heating with the high-speed wind. When the amount of refrigerant is accurate, the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet of the indoor heat exchanger is: greater than 12°C during cooling, and greater than 16°C during heating.
When cooling, all indoor heat exchangers condense, the evaporating sound is uniform and low, the outdoor shut-off valve condenses. When heating, the wall temperature of the indoor heat exchanger will be greater than 40°C.
If the piping system needs to be supplemented with refrigerant, it is advisable to use the method of measuring current as of the main, measuring gauge pressure as the supplement, and taking into account the observation.
